Martha supports funding Educational Services as one of the pillars of support for members. Ensuring the ongoing development of high-quality professional development and training, created by members for members, is a priority.
Martha believes that providing first-rate training and professional development is a valuable way to engage members and connect them with their union. Providing members access to relevant training and professional development opportunities to promote their growth and success in their jobs is a key role for the union. It builds awareness and engagement – the union exists to support members in all areas of their work life.
Martha knows that effective member professional development and training must be timely, accessible, relevant, and diverse. Members must have a voice in determining the type of training and supports they want and need. Members also need to have choices about how and when they can access growth opportunities, training, and supports.
